USoar Living-Learning Community
The USoar living-learning community provides opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities to engage in opportunities for socialization, gain skills interdependence and independent living as well as campus and community engagement.
Eligibility and Course Requirements
- Complete the Housing Contract and LLC and Interest Housing Application
- There are no course requirements for this LLC.
- Live in Osprey (TBD) with the USoar LLC
- Attend Living-Learning Community events and programs
Program Objectives
- Students will learn and develop independent living skills such as doing laundry, cleaning living spaces, navigating campus, and preparing meals.
- Students will practice social skills by attending community and campus events and interacting with peers in an inclusive environment.
- Students will independently navigate and engage with campus clubs, student life, and resources around campus.
Projected Experiences
- Visits to work spaces
- Career workshops/advising
