Maurisha Bishop-Salmon, MSM

Maurisha Bishop-Salmon currently serves as the Victim Advocate under the Dean of Students and is a confidential resource. Her focus is on providing comprehensive victim advocacy services to anyone in the 老澳门资料 community impacted by crime. An avid advocate for those affected by wrongdoing, Maurisha’s interest in advocacy began when she was an on-call victim advocate while attending 老澳门资料.
Maurisha is a graduate of the 老澳门资料 Coggin School of Business (MSM 2018) and Brooks College of Health (BSH, Concentration: Public Health, summa cum laude, 2013). She also received the Presidential Excellence Awards- Quality Customer Service Award, Presidential Spot Award, and the Student Affairs Award- Ethical Conduct. Additionally, she received the Victim Services Practitioner Designation Certification provided by the Office of the Attorney General.
Maurisha joined Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) in 2019 as the Victim Services Program Manager and was instrumental in expanding victim services and growing the team to become a stand-alone unit of seven certified victim advocates. She was a featured guest for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) representing JSO Law Enforcement Based Direct Victim Services discussing policy and documentation for victim services.
Maurisha remains active in community matters and is a member of the Mayor’s Victim Assistance Advisory Council (VAAC) and the Jacksonville Advisory Council on Sexual Assault (SAAC).
