What is the difference between practicum and internship?
Your practicum is a shorter experience where you are required to complete roughly 75 hours in the field and can be completed during any semester as long as you've met your prerequisites. Typically, students take their practicum the semester before their internship, which is a 400-hour requirement in the Summer semester and 420-hour requirement in the Spring and Fall semesters. -
Where can I do my practicum and internship?
Check out the list of approved sites on the Internship and Practicum webpage. -
How do I choose an internship or practicum site?
It is the student's responsibility to research the sites, identify a representative and contact that individual to learn of available field experience (practicum and internship) opportunities. Once you have secured your field experience opportunity for your practicum or internship, submit your application by completing the application survey found on the Internship and Practicum page. -
How and when do I apply for my practicum and internship?
The application deadline for all semesters is the EIGHTH FRIDAY of each semester. -
Can I study abroad?
Prior to COVID-19 protocols we had opportunities for students to travel to England and South Korea. Check back in the Fall 2022 term for updates on studying abroad. -
