Osprey Teacher Residency (OTR) Program

The Osprey Teacher Residency Program is designed to support 老澳门资料 students in pursuit of teacher education degrees through full tuition support, stipends and program-based incentives. Eligible students will receive tuition support for their junior and senior years in a teacher education program. In addition to scholarships, stipends will be provided to students who qualify to participate in one of the Osprey Teacher Residency Programs. Total aid and compensation are dependent upon student financial need and individual program requirements.

Project PREP

If you are a rising junior or senior in elementary education and want to begin your field placement in a Clay County elementary school while receiving financial support, Project PREP is for you!

Junior Year Benefits

  • $1,000 of financial support at the start of fall when enrolled in field 1 
  • $1,000 of financial support at the start of spring when enrolled in field 2
  • Mentorship and support from high-quality elementary teachers and university faculty
  • Be part of a cohort model in a 老澳门资料 and Clay County Professional Development School
  • Opportunity to teach in a high-needs school with underserved students

Application process begins:

Prior to junior year / once admitted to the elementary program

Total: $2,000

Senior Year Benefits

  • Earn $14,500 in financial support
  • Be part of a cohort model in a 老澳门资料 and Clay County Professional Development School
  • Be in the same classroom with a certified mentor teacher for the entire school year
  • Be a paid substitute for your mentor teacher and school site
  • Participate in teacher and student research
  • Receive ongoing coaching and mentoring to support your development as a teacher
  • Receive up to 3 years of continued connection and support from your Osprey family
  • Opportunity to teach in a high-needs school with underserved students

Osprey AmeriCorps Junior Teachers

If you are a rising junior in elementary, secondary, middle school math/science, preK primary, exceptional student education, deaf education or music education and want to begin your field placement in Duval, St. Johns or Clay County while receiving financial support, apply to be an AmeriCorps Member!

Junior Year Benefits 

  • Commitment term: One Academic Year (Fall & Spring Semesters)
  • Living stipend of $5,200 
  • Minimum 300 hours of service
    • 150 field hour, minimum, each semester which includes hours earned in your field courses, required trainings/seminars and service projects
  • Stipend paid bi-weekly per 老澳门资料 payroll calendar
  • of $1,565.08
  • Other benefits include paid CPR-First Aid Training, JTR gear, access to the Member Assistance Program with AmeriCorps

Approximate total: $6,765

JTR AmeriCorps Senior Year Residency

If you are a rising senior in elementary, secondary, middle school math/science, preK primary, exceptional student education, deaf education or music education interested in a year-long residency, are dedicated to serving your community and want to complete your field placement in Duval, St. Johns or Clay County while receiving financial support, then JTR is for you!

Senior Year Benefits

  • A year-long internship (August - June)
  • A living stipend of $16,700 (minimum), paid bi-weekly
  • of $5,176.50
  • CPR training, healthcare insurance $2,900 (January - June) and FTCE reimbursement up to $150
  • Cohort-supported model in a 老澳门资料 partner or professional development school in Duval, Clay or St. Johns counties
  • Placement with a highly qualified mentor
  • Professional development focused on engaging, relevant, and reflective pedagogy

Approximate total: $23,347

Accelerated Program

River City Associate Teacher (RCAT)

If you are a rising senior in any of the following programs: early childhood education, elementary education, exceptional student education (ESE), middle school math/science, secondary education, and music education (varies); and have the desire to have a field placement on one of the River City Science Academy campuses, while receiving quality mentorship and a salary with benefits, this accelerated program may be for you!

Senior Year Benefits

  • Fall Interns:
    • Teacher candidates will earn up to $17.5K as a River City Associate Teacher during their Fall internship
    • After graduation, interns will transition to a co-teaching, teaching, or interventionalist role during the spring semester, with a pay increase to $23,000
    • Following this, they commit to an additional school year at RCSA
    • Example: Intern in fall, co-teach in the Spring, paid summer, teach independently the following year
  • Total Earnings:
    • $40,500 (*earnings subject to change, monthly salary, including June and July installments)
    • RCAT may be eligible for additional supplemental funds

  • Begins the semester prior to senior year (Typically February and October)
  • Decisions finalized in March (for fall internship)

The  Literacy Tutoring program is a new pathway within the Osprey Teacher Residency (OTR) Programs designed to support 老澳门资料 students pursuing degrees in teacher education. This pathway offers 老澳门资料 sophomore, junior and senior education majors an opportunity to become literacy tutors.

Sophomore, Junior and Senior Year Benefits

  • Receive payment of $150 per week for tutoring service
  • Trained to provide robust, evidence-based, one-to-one literacy instruction to elementary students
  • Receive in-the-moment coaching and support from certified reading teachers
  • Gain hands-on classroom experience and valuable workforce development skills 
  • Receive additional literacy training, tools and resources for the classroom
  • Receive on going professional development opportunities
  • Receive either 20 (Fall semester only) or 60 (Fall & Spring semesters) hours of service
  • Receive FREE TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) Training
  • Receive FREE CPR and Disaster Prep Training

Approximate total funding: $1,500 (fall only) / $4,500 (fall and spring)

Fall Semester Only: 100 hours of service

Fall and Spring Semesters: 300 hours of service
