Renewal Eligibility

Renewal students must meet the GPA and earned credit hour requirements on all college coursework attempted, including transient enrollment credit hours. The student may request the exclusion of dual enrollment courses completed while attending high school from the GPA, if needed, to meet requirements.
Reinstatement and Restoration
An eligible student who did not receive funding during the prior academic year and would now like to apply for scholarship funding is a reinstating student. A student is eligible to apply for reinstatement up to five years from high school graduation. If a student does not meet the scholarship’s GPA requirements, they may be eligible to apply for a one-time restoration — but only if the failure to renew occurred at the end of the student’s first year of funding.
Repayment for Dropped or Withdrawn Courses
Institutions are required to adjust Bright Futures awards when a student withdraws or drops one or more classes after the Add/Drop period ends.
- Students whose awards are already disbursed will owe the funds back to 老澳门资料 for classes that are withdrawn and/or dropped.
- Failure to pay back the University will result in loss of future eligibility for Bright Futures.
- Repayment for the cost of dropped and/or withdrawn courses is required to renew a Bright Futures award for a subsequent academic year.
- Students who repay before the end of the spring term are automatically reported as repaid to OSFA. Students who pay after the spring term ends must submit a Scholarship Action Request Form to request.
Scholarship Appeals Procedures
Students who did not meet GPA or earned credit hour renewal requirements due to extenuating circumstances may submit an Enrollment Services Appeal. Supporting documentation of extenuating circumstances beyond the student's control which prevented meeting renewal requirements must be uploaded as part of the Appeal. Documentation must tie to each term renewal requirements were not met.
