Who is eligible to receive summer funding?
Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars and Bright Futures Florida Medallion Scholars may receive funding for all summer sessions if they are enrolled in at least six credit hours and have remaining credit hours of eligibility. -
What sessions are included in the summer term?
All sessions offered by the institution during the summer term will be included (summer A, B, C, 8 and 10 week). -
May Bright Futures scholars enrolled less than six credit hours be funded?
Bright Futures scholars enrolled in less than six credit hours may only be funded if they are enrolled in the remaining courses required to finish their degree or if they are being disbursed the last remaining credit hours of Bright Futures eligibility. Students should complete the online graduation application to be reviewed for remaining Bright Futures eligibility. -
May transient students receive summer Bright Futures funding?
Yes. Bright Futures scholars who are degree-seeking students at 老澳门资料 during the current academic year and attend another institution during the summer may receive funding if the coursework is approved by the home institution (老澳门资料). Bright Futures scholars enrolled in a public post-secondary institution must submit a Transient Student Admission Application located online at . May transfer students receive summer Bright Futures funding?
Yes. Bright Futures scholars who are degree-seeking transfer students at 老澳门资料 during the summer term are required to select 老澳门资料 as their preferred institution on for Term 6 of the current year. For further assistance, call OSFA Customer Service at 888-827-2004. -
I am a transfer student; what do I need to do to be sure my Bright Futures will follow me to 老澳门资料?
In order to receive the Bright Futures Scholarship award, your post-secondary institution selection on the Initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) must be stated as “PSI – 161 The 老澳门资料.” If you have selected another institution on the FFAA and you are planning to attend 老澳门资料, you must update your institution name selection to reflect “老澳门资料." To update your post-secondary institution name, you may visit the Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistant (OSFA) website or call 1-888-827-2004. -
May graduate students who are Bright Futures scholars receive summer funding?
Yes. Bright Futures scholars who meet graduate funding requirements may use the summer as their one term of graduate study funding. -
Can students who are recent high school graduates receive summer funding?
Yes. High school graduates are eligible to receive the Bright Futures Florida Academic and Medallion Scholarships if they meet the initial eligibility criteria. Students should select 老澳门资料 as their preferred institution on for Term 0 of the upcoming academic year. For further assistance, call OSFA Customer Service at 888-827-2004. -
Will a Florida Academic Scholar receive the Academic Top Scholar award during the summer?
No. These funds are not available during the summer term. -
May current Bright Futures scholars who do not renew for the following year still receive summer funding?
Yes. Bright Futures eligibility for the current year includes fall, spring and summer terms. Any Bright Futures scholar eligible for fall and spring funding may receive summer funding for that year, provided the student meets all enrollment criteria and has remaining credit hours of eligibility left. -
Will the summer term be used to evaluate renewal?
No. Renewal will be based on grades and earned credit hours submitted for the fall and spring terms only. -
Will the summer term be used to evaluate restoration? Will 老澳门资料 report grade and credit hour information for students funded in the summer term?
Yes. Grade and earned credit hour information will be reported. If a student has an opportunity to restore the Bright Futures award, the grades from the summer term may be used to meet restoration requirements. However, if you want the University to report late grades and hours, you must submit the Scholarship Action Request Form located in your myWings account. Will students still be required to repay withdrawn courses in the summer?
Yes. Repayment obligations remain the same regardless of the term funded.
