Turkiye (Turkey)

Economics and Finance in Istanbul, Turkiye

12 spots left!  Application deadline is December 13.

The banking system in the US and Turkiye (formerly Turkey) are substantially different. The Turkish banking system is more concentrated and regulated by one regulator, while the American system is fragmented and managed by a dual banking system. This course compares the banking sectors of the two countries and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of both. Students taking this course will travel to Istanbul, the financial capital of Turkiye, to observe these differences firsthand. In addition, Istanbul offers many opportunities for historical and cultural visits as students witness the clash between tradition (mosques, churches and holy sites) and modernization (famous bazaars).

Note: This program requires students to complete a selection interview after submitting an application.
