Affidavit of Financial Support Fall 2024 - Summer 2025

The 老澳门资料 is required by U.S. federal regulations to verify the financial resources of each applicant prior to issuing a SEVIS I-20/DS-2019. Please complete the Affidavit of Financial Support and Bank Certification and submit it along with any other relevant verification of support (bank letters, awards, scholarships, etc.). Applicants seeking an F-1 visa must show proof of financial support for the first year of study at the 老澳门资料 and demonstrate availability of funds for the entire length of their academic program. Applicants seeking a J-1 visa must show proof of financial support for the entire length of their academic program.

*Undergraduate tuition and fees are based on estimates for 12 hours per semester (undergraduate students must register for a minimum of 12 hours each semester). Graduate tuition and fees are based on estimates of 9 hours per semester (graduate students must register for a minimum of 9 hours each semester).

**Room and Board is based on an average of on-campus housing options and the most popular on-campus meal plan. Some housing choices will be higher and some will be lower. Actual costs will vary depending on choice of room and meal plan. Off-campus costs will depend on choice of accommodations and utilities.

***All F-1 and J-1 international students are required to carry health insurance.

****Add $3,500 to the above totals for each dependent.

NOTE: The above figures are estimates only, not actual costs. Because tuition, housing, and food costs tend to increase every year, it is recommended that you budget for an additional 5% to 10% over the estimated costs above. If you plan to enroll for the summer term along with the fall and spring terms, you should budget for at least an additional $8,000 to $13,000 depending upon the number of credits you register for and your academic level.

Acceptable Financial Documents

In order to issue an I-20/DS-2019, the applicant has to verify that they have the required funds to study in the United States for a minimum of one academic year. These funds have to be liquid assets and readily available for withdrawal.

The 老澳门资料 accepts the following financial documents as proof of readily available funds. Documents cannot be more than 6 months old:

  • 老澳门资料 affidavit form completed and certified by the applicant's sponsor and their bank;
OR
  • First two sections of the affidavit form completed by the applicant's sponsor, paired with any of the following:
    • An official bank letter on letterhead and containing a bank official signature or stamp;
    • Bank statements, single page bank statements showing the name of the account holder, current balance, and date;
    • Mature certificate of deposit, or proof that the CD will reach maturity prior to the start of your program;
    • Bank loan letter.
OR
  • Official Government/NGO scholarship letter.

Note: Affidavit forms, bank letters, bank statements and scholarship/bank loan letters have to be issued within the last six months. Multiple sponsors are allowed.

The 老澳门资料 does not accept the following types of funds for I-20 purposes:

  • Retirement accounts or pension statements
  • Real Estate statements
  • Property statements
  • Life insurance statements
  • Salary statements
  • Credit card statements
  • Tax forms
  • Other types of accounts that are neither considered liquid assets nor readily available funds, or values that can change.

Personal Data

U.S. law requires address notification within 10 days of change of address. To notify the International Center of a change of address, complete the form below and email it to intlctr@unf.edu

Academic Program Extension Request

International students that need extra time to complete their degree must have this form completed by their advisor.

Academic Advisor Recommendation Form

Reduced Course Load Request

For select reasons, an international student may request their course load to be reduced. The academic advisor and international student advisor must complete this form.

Travel Signature

Students who wish to travel outside of the US must complete this form and submit it with their I-20 or DS-2019.

Transfer Notification

International students attending another US institution must complete this form to transfer their SEVIS record to 老澳门资料.
