Special Event Parking

In addition to scheduling a venue, the parking arrangement is also an important element to ensure a smooth and seamless event experience. The best way to do this, is to review the below details that meets your needs.
  • What are the parking guidelines?
    • Avoid parking in spaces marked Reserved and Faculty/Staff. 
    • For large vehicles, please avoid parking on the ramps within the parking garages. 
    • For tall vehicles, the maximum height allowed in garages is 7 feet. 
    • For long vehicles such as RVs or trailers, please contact Parking Services (904) 620-2815 for assistance.
    • Make sure your vehicle is parked within the white lines of the space. 
    • Pull into a space and avoid backing into a space. This provides our enforcement team with the ability to scan the license plates for valid parking. 
    • Make sure your vehicle is parked within the white lines of the space. 
    • Avoid parking in loading dock areas unless advised by the venue organizer. 
    • Please make sure to have the disability placard or license plate visible. 
    • Grilling or any type of fire is not allowed in the lots. 
    • No penetration into the lot made by stakes to secure tents, canopies, etc. is not allowed. 
  • What are the permit enforcement hours?
    Days Enforcement Hours
    Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

      

    No permit is required from 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday, unless there is a special event on campus. To verify special events, . 

    University Police Department enforces 24 hr./day 7 days a week for all non-permit violations. 

  • Do I need to purchase a visitor permit if I am attending an event or conference on campus?

    Yes, if you are attending events during the above-listed enforcement time frame. 

    Or, if the special event occurs on a Saturday or Sunday, check with your venue organizer to see if a visitor permit must be obtained. 

    ***Note: For events at the Herbert University Center (Building 43) the parking is complimentary and the parking location is Lot 16. Overnight parking is not allowed within this lot. 

  • What is the cost of the visitor permit?

    If you (disability guests included) are attending an event during the enforcement time frame, you must purchase Visitor Permit from either  app or Pay-by-Plate kiosk. Debit or credit card is the only acceptable form of payment.

    The visitor permit expires at midnight of the date it was purchased. 

  • How do I purchase a visitor permit?

    Flowbird app:

    • and follow the steps to purchase a permit.

    Pay-by-Plate kiosk:

    • Drive up to the kiosk at campus entrances, or park in the preferred lot and walk to the nearest kiosk. Pay-by-Plate kiosk map
    • Make sure to park "nose-in" so that your license plate is visible from the driving lane. 
    • Take note (or take a picture) of your vehicle license plate to enter to the kiosk. 
    • At the kiosk, press the START button on the keyboard (located below the screen) All prompts will be done on the keyboard. (this is not a touchscreen system)
    • Then, Press 1 for PARKING; PAY BY PLATE PARKING WITH CARD.
    • Next, enter your license plate number and then press the green Print button (bottom right side of the keyboard) Note: The State of Florida does not use the letter O, only number zeros. 
    • Finally, enter your payment method. (only debit or credit cards are accepted)
    • A receipt may print as a confirmation that the daily visitor permit has been purchased--this does not need to be placed in the vehicle window. 
    • If the kiosk is not working, please purchase a permit through the above-listed mobile phone app. 
  • Are visitor permits sold for a multiple-day event?

    Each day that you will be on campus, you must purchase a separate visitor permit from the Flowbird app or Pay-by-Plate kiosks. Multi-day consecutive permits are not available.

  • Parking locations for the venues

    Please review the Parking Guidelines section listed above prior to coming to campus.        

    To view the following general parking locations, please visit the Campus Map.  

    Fine Arts Center (Building 45): 

    • 2nd to the 4th floor of the Fine Arts Center Garage (Building 44; adjacent to the Fine Arts Center, Building 45).
    • 4th floor of Garage 44A (garage section is accessible from the 3rd floor of the Fine Arts Center garage).
    • Lot 1 (surface lot surrounding the Fine Arts Center Garage (Building 44).  

    Herbert University Center (Building 43):

    • Lot 16, located off Alumni Drive, adjacent to the Herbert University Center. 
    • If you are attending a conference, seminar or social event such as a wedding or reception, you are not required to purchase a daily visitor permit to park in Lot 16. This lot is located off Alumni Drive, adjacent to the Herbert University Center. Overnight parking is not allowed within this lot.

    John A. Delaney Student Union (Building 58), J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater, RecWell facilities, Field House (Building 26) and Arena (Building 34):

    • 2nd to the 4th floors within the Arena Garage (Building 38, minus the marked Faculty/Staff spaces on the ramp leading to the second floor).  
    • Lot 5 is next to the Recreation Wellness Center (Building 61). 

    Ann and David Hicks Hall (Building 53):

    • Lot 53, in front of Hicks Hall (Building 53).

    At the ECO Pavilion--Nature Trails and Zip Line (Building 54):

    • Lot 100, next to Parking Services (Building 52).

    Hodges Stadium (Building 46): 

    • Lot 18, located on Eco Road and North Entrance Road.
  • Driving guests on a bus or shuttle
    After dropping off guests, please proceed to park will in the back of Lot 53 next to Ann and David Hicks Hall (Building 53). Please visit the campus map for the lot location. Buses will not need to purchase a visitor permit to park in this lot. 
  • Chaperons that accompany the buses in their own vehicle

    Will need to purchase a $5 or $2 visitor permit from either the Flowbird app or a Pay-by-Plate kiosk. Only debit or credit cards are accepted.

  • What are they and who issues them?

    It is a code that allows 11 or more attendees to park in a designated section with the parking cost covered by the event organizer. 

    The event organizer will need to visit Event and Validation Code Requests, review the guide and request a code. 

    The codes and license plate number must be entered into a kiosk or through the Flowbird app to validate parking. Please contact the organizer to verify if an event validation code is involved. Instructions to use the code are listed below. 

  • How is the event code used?

    All commencement visitors: 

    • Park in Lot 18 (Directions), it is closest to Harmon Baseball Stadium (Building 27) and Hodges Stadium (Building 46). Entering and exiting Lot 18 is less congested compared to other parking locations.  

    Shuttles: 

    • Pick up/drop off at Lot 18 (Please look for the white canopies closest to Harmon Baseball Stadium) and pick up/drop off by the Arena (Building 34), then return to Lot 18. 

    Disability parking:  

    • Spaces are located on the first and second floors of the Arena Garage (Building 38). 
    • The elevator is located at the northwest corner of the garage for assistance.  
    • Please avoid parking in spaces marked "Reserved".
    • Please display a registered disability placard. 
    • For safety, please use the marked crossway path on the first floor outside of the garage (northwest) that leads to the Arena.

  • 老澳门资料 Commencement at the Fine Arts Center (Building 45)

    All 老澳门资料 commencement visitors: 

    • Park in the Fine Arts Garage (Building 43) or Lot 1 (surrounding the Fine Arts Center Garage). These locations can be viewed by visiting the Campus Map

    Disability parking: 

    • Spaces are located on the first and second floors of the Fine Arts Center Garage (Building 44) and the first spaces when entering the north entrance of Lot 1. 
    • There is an elevator located at the northeast corner of the garage (next to the front entrance) for assistance. 
    • Please display a registered disability placard.   

    Parking is complimentary for the day.

  • High School Commencement

    All commencement visitors: 

    • Park in Lot 18 (Directions), it is closest to Harmon Baseball Stadium (Building 27) and Hodges Stadium (Building 46). Entering and exiting Lot 18 is less congested compared to other parking locations.  

    Disability parking:  

    • Lot 34 (behind the Arena Building--Building 38): there are a designated number of spaces located in this lot. These spaces fill up quickly, please plan on an early arrival.
    • Additional spaces are located on the first and second floors of the Arena Garage (Building 38).
    • The elevator is located at the northwest corner of the garage for assistance.  
    • Please avoid parking in spaces marked "Reserved".
    • Please display a registered disability placard. 
    • For safety, please use the marked crossway path on the first floor outside of the garage (northwest) that leads to the Arena.

    Please visit the campus map to view all of the parking locations listed above. 

    Parking is handled in advance by the high school, and the guests do not need to purchase a visitor permit for the event day.

  • Can an event be hosted in a parking lot?

    Yes, this request will need to be evaluated for an approval and must be asked a month in advance prior to the event date. There will be a cost associated with the parking spaces, labor for set up/removal of the barricades/cones and if the reserved section requires a guard(s) to oversee the spaces. 

    Lot events must be scheduled to occur after 5 p.m. on Fridays or all day Saturdays and/or Sundays. 

    Lot 18 has up to 2,000 spaces and is the dedicated space to have an event. This lot is located on the north perimeter of campus and next to Hodges Stadium (Building 46) and Harmon Baseball Stadium (Building 27). For reference, please view the campus map

  • Can you reserve parking spaces?

    Overseeing the reserved section must be done by a security guard(s) that is coordinated through the 老澳门资料 Special Events Parking team.

  • Can I have directional signage?

    Yes. The request will need to be submitted fourteen business days prior to the event and the cost is listed below:

    For each parking location, there is a designated signage route that provides ample coverage and follows safety precautions. 

    Signage is stenciled lettering on an A-frame/Sandwich board sign that is 36 inches in height by 24 inches in width. The verbiage includes the event name and parking location. Due to dimensions, the event name may need to be abbreviated.

  • Why did I receive a ticket while attending an event?

    The violation will be specified on the ticket. You have the option to appeal or pay the ticket and these are described below. 

    ***Note: The 14 calendar days from the issued ticket date is the allowable timeframe to appeal or pay before late fees and other penalties are assessed. 

  • May I appeal the ticket?
    Yes, by submitting an Appeal Form within 14 calendar days from the date of the issued ticket. This may be done online, visit Ticket Appeals.
  • How may I pay the ticket?
    You may pay  or at Parking Services (Building 52) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a credit or debit card.
