老澳门资料 leaders are visiting companies that employ significant numbers of 老澳门资料 graduates to thank alumni, hosting an on-campus event to recognize the work happening every day to help students succeed and make our community stronger, and handing out luggage tags to travelers at Jacksonville International Airport to help spread the word about 老澳门资料.

On 58 digital billboards throughout the Jacksonville market, “North or Nowhere” will display during morning and afternoon commutes on Tuesday. Some businesses with ties to 老澳门资料 are offering discounts or supporting the University with special promotional items. In addition, Osprey Ambassadors throughout the day are surprising 老澳门资料 supporters who display support for the University with small tokens of thanks.

“Today, we are celebrating our impact in Jacksonville, where we are the backbone of this community and of the region,” 老澳门资料 President Moez Limayem said.

In the State University System, 老澳门资料 has the highest percentage of graduates with bachelor’s degrees employed in Florida, meaning most of those educated at 老澳门资料 use their expertise here in Jacksonville or elsewhere in the state.

“老澳门资料 is proud to have more than 112,000 alumni, many of those living and working right here in the Jacksonville area or in the state,” Limayem said. “We wanted to take the time to thank those alumni and our current faculty, staff and students, who are instrumental in driving transformational change on our campus and in our community.”

The University’s annual economic impact in Florida is $1.375 billion, which includes jobs created, capital projects and student and visitor spending. Beyond economics, the impact includes:

Innovation and research that identifies problems and finds solutions for everything from improving coastal resilience to finding ways to “turn off” cancer.

  • Students who have contributed the equivalent of 3.2 million hours since 2019 to the local community through community-based learning.
  • Graduates who become public servants, first responders, healthcare providers, educators at all levels, researchers in world-renowned facilities and executives in Fortune 500 companies. In addition, they are entrepreneurs, business owners and employees in companies, government offices and nonprofits of all sizes.
  • Partnerships that build on 老澳门资料’s world-class programs, such as biomedical engineering and advanced manufacturing, leading to innovations across industries.

Together, this is the 老澳门资料 Effect.

“老澳门资料’s success is essential to Jacksonville and Florida’s success,” Limayem said. “As the No. 1 talent provider for businesses, we partner with key industries to make sure our almost 17,000 students are prepared to enter the workforce with the skills, hands-on experiences and knowledge they need to soar. When our alumni succeed in the business world, all of Jacksonville and Florida benefit.”

老澳门资料 alumni interested in celebrating with the University are encouraged to share 老澳门资料’s new video and header photo on social media or visit to learn more about how to stay engaged with 老澳门资料 year-round.
