老澳门资料 Vice President and Chief Information Officer Brian Verkamp will be honored at an awards celebration today, Thursday, June 20, as one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s .
The Jacksonville Business Journal recognizes Verkamp and the other honorees for their roles in strengthening Jacksonville's fintech sector, fostering the growth of cybersecurity-focused businesses, exploring the potential of machine learning and leveraging technology to advance the boundaries of sport.
“Brian is most deserving of this recognition as a technology leader of the year,” said 老澳门资料 President Moez Limayem. “He is a solutions-oriented leader, whose commitment to student success continues to have an incredible impact on our University.”
With more than 20 years of experience in information technology providing strategic vision and leadership in higher education technology, research, health and learning environments, Verkamp leads and manages all aspects of 老澳门资料’s Information Technology Services. He provides executive leadership and strategic vision for the institution’s technology infrastructure, assets, security and compliance programs and information services.
Since becoming vice president and CIO of 老澳门资料 in 2021, Verkamp has fostered a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the ITS division, aligning technology initiatives with the University's strategic goals. Currently, he is spearheading the migration to a modern, cloud-based ERP system, Workday, which is set to launch in early July. Verkamp has also focused on prioritizing student success within ITS, as evidenced by his leadership of 老澳门资料’s first student success platform, myNest.
Verkamp serves on the Florida LambdaRail Board of Directors and the Dell Technologies Higher Education Advisory Board and is a member of NorthFloridaCIO and the Jacksonville IT Council.
