The Physics Department and Astronomy Club are hosting a viewing of the partial solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024.

The 老澳门资料 Department of Physics and Astronomy Club invite the campus community and public to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse. The 老澳门资料 Eclipse Watch Party will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, April 8, at the . 

will hand out free ISO-approved solar eclipse glasses at the event. Physics students and faculty will have solar telescopes for viewing and fun activities for kids and families. If you plan to stay for the entire eclipse, please bring chairs or blankets to sit on. The event is free but parking at 老澳门资料 in Lot 18 costs $2. A parking permit can be purchased at a Pay-by-Plate kiosk or the smartphone . 

Activities include:

  • Safely view the Sun with eclipse glasses and solar telescopes
  • Photograph the eclipse
  • Make your own eclipse art and "sun clock"
  • View the solar spectrum
