The Physics Department is partnering with the  in France to establish an exchange program for Physics majors.

Interested students should contact Dr. Greg Wurtz, Chair of the Physics Department, early to set up their program. The student may wish to earn PHY 4940 Physics Internship hours as part of their exchange program.

Under this program the student typically will spend a summer doing research with UTT physicists. The airline and living expenses are borne by the student but there are grant opportunities that may partially support the costs. The student should contact the to pursue such grants and to set up their exchange.

Physics Teaching Option

The Physics Teaching Option is provided to physics majors who plan to teach high school physics. One would major in physics (e.g., traditional physics) and complete a  from the .

This option will provide you the necessary credentials to teach. Students choosing this option are also encouraged to apply to our Physics Teaching Apprenticeship Program (next tab) in order to get “on the job” training in the classroom. Students choosing this option are also encouraged to complete a physics teaching internship offered by the College of Education and Human Services.

For more information about the Physics Teaching Option, please contact Dr. James Garner, chair of the Physics department.
