Frank B. Marcon Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The 老澳门资料's School of Engineering is proud to present this scholarship in honor of Frank B Marcon sponsored by his daughter, Dr. Rebecca A. Marcon.

Criteria

Successful applicants must:

  • meet admission requirements and be accepted to the 老澳门资料's School of Engineering
  • classified as a junior os senior majoring in Engineering
  • be an active member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) or equivalent
  • enroll full time with at least 12 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • preference will be given to students who complete the Free Application for Federal
    Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the University's
    Office of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients must:

  • earn a minimum 老澳门资料 GPA of 3.0,
  • remain in good standing as a student
  • comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor
  • complete a 300-word essay responding to the following prompt: "You have selected
    engineering as your major. What inspired you to choose engineering? What will
    sustain and motivate you as you move toward graduation?"

Renewal

Recipients who demonstrate financial need are eligible for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding, and if all the scholarship criteria have been met. Student who do not demonstrate financial need will not be eligible for renewal.

No student will be eligible to receive more than six (6) semesters of scholarship support. The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the 老澳门资料 Financial Aid Office.
