Benefits of Joining ESG

Professional Development, Hands-On Experience, Community Involvement, Networking, Social Events, Subscriptions to the Health Educator and the ESG Student Monograph, Regalia honorary cords at graduation, Presented with Certificate of Membership,  and Official Pin at Initiation Ceremony

In order to stay an active member, one must complete 15 hours of the following activities each semester: 

  • General Body Meetings
  • 3 Events

Our purpose is to:

  • Enhance professional competence and dedication of individual members to the health education profession.
  • Elevate the standards, ideals, competence and ethics of professionally trained men and women in and for the Health Science discipline. 

Our objectives are to:

  • Become acquainted with and enjoy the fellowship of students and faculty whose professional interests are dedicated to the Health Education discipline.
  • Allow the resources for hands on experience and skill building in health education and promotion.
  • Keep members informed of recent trends in health education. 
  • Promote professional growth and leadership.

Examples of past workshops/events/service activities: 

  • Healthy Campus Week – Eco Adventure 
  • Building ‘Bags of Love’ for Mission House 
  • National Health Education Week Tabling 
  • American Red Cross Fire Alarm Installation 
  • NEFL Rx & Heroin Task Force

 

Application Updates as of 6-15-2022: 

  • New members are required to submit the $75 membership payment via Cash or Check to Professor Schedin m.schedin@unf.edu (no online transactions will be accepted)
  • Membership fee should be submitted in a sealed envelope in the Fall or Spring semesters (Applications are not accepted during Summer)
