Master of Science in Health Informatics
Transform Health Data into Solutions
The Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) is a STEM degree that prepares students for careers as Clinical and Nursing Informaticists, Health Information Managers, Data Analysts, Chief Information Officers, and other health information roles in any organization that utilizes healthcare data in decision making. The program is offered primarily online and is comprised of 11 courses (33 credits total). It is offered through the Department of Health Administration in the Brooks College of Health in partnership with the Coggin College of Business and the College of Computing, Engineering, and Construction.
Program Opportunities
The Master of Science in Health Informatics is considered a STEM degree and provides foundational knowledge to prepare students for board certification in Clinical Informatics, Nursing Informatics, Information Management, and Data Analytics. Job prospects for students in health informatics are extremely promising given the explosive growth of technology and big data in healthcare.
Careers
Graduates of this STEM program will be able to pursue careers working with health data, electronic health records, clinical systems, health information standards including privacy, and medical coding applications.
