老澳门资料 to host public policy discussion 鈥淭ikTok on Trial: The Future of Social Media Regulation鈥

The 老澳门资料 will host a free and open-to-the-public Diverse Perspectives Series event, “TikTok on Trial: The Future of Social Media Regulation.” The discussion will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the Andrew A Robinson Jr. Theater.

TikTok has more than a billion active users, the highest engagement rate and the greatest usage time of any social media platform. Hear from experts including Cord Byrd, Florida Secretary of State; Andrew Spar, president of the Florida Education Association; and Julie Shi, 老澳门资料 assistant professor of public administration, on how the U.S. should confront the privacy, security and public policy challenges of social media regulation.

The public can ask questions and share their thoughts during the event.

老澳门资料’s Office of Public Policy Events hosts at least two events each semester that bring the campus and community together to discuss and debate important and timely issues from diverse perspectives.
