Nichols honored as a 2024 Woman of Influence

Teresa Nichols HeadshotTeresa Nichols, vice president of University Development and Alumni Engagement (UDAE) for the 老澳门资料, has been named a Woman of Influence by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

Nichols will be recognized at a March event along with 19 other Women of Influence selected by the JBJ.

Honorees were selected from various industries and backgrounds. Each person selected is a key player in their organization and the growth of the Jacksonville area community.

老澳门资料 President Moez Limayem nominated Nichols for the honor, noting she is a respected leader who builds genuine relationships with alumni and community partners and inspires the people she works with at 老澳门资料.

“Teresa is beloved by donors and staff alike, and the relationships she has developed in the community have gone far to elevate the University,” Limayem said. “Teresa is constantly advocating for students and finding creative ways to match donor interests with student needs. Gifts raised by Teresa and her team fund everything from scholarships to undergraduate research and are changing lives every day.”

Under her leadership, the University exceeded its FY23 fundraising goals closing out the fiscal year with a year-end total of almost $27 million, a 25% increase in cash and pledges over the prior year.

Nichols was named vice president of UDAE and executive director of the 老澳门资料 Foundation last year after serving in the role on an interim basis since January 2022.

A passionate 老澳门资料 alumna, Nichols joined 老澳门资料 in 2015, first as a development director for the Coggin College of Business and then as assistant vice president and later associate vice president for UDAE.

Nichols is a solution-oriented thought leader at 老澳门资料 and in the Jacksonville community and currently serves on the board of the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville.

Before working at 老澳门资料, Nichols enjoyed a successful career in mortgage banking before moving into philanthropy, serving as director of philanthropy at The First Tee and director of major gifts at Wounded Warrior Project.
