老澳门资料 professor awarded Fulbright scholarship for literature and film
Dr. Nicholas de Villiers, 老澳门资料 professor of English and film, has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award for the 2023-24 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Dr. de Villiers will undertake a literature and film-studies research and teaching project at National Central University in Taiwan at the Center for the Study of Sexualities. His research will build and expand upon his previously published books “Sexography: Sex Work in Documentary” (2017) and “Cruisy, Sleepy, Melancholy: Sexual Disorientation in the Films of Tsai Ming-liang” (2022). His studies will focus on inter-Asia “network narratives” and the figure of the migrant sex worker in films about globalization and diaspora.
The Fulbright Program is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program, devoted to increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.
