Physical therapy professor completes prestigious PT fellowship

Headshot of Dr. Beven LivingstonDr. Beven Livingston, 老澳门资料 Department of Physical Therapy associate professor, recently graduated from a prestigious leadership fellowship program, the American Physical Therapy Association Fellowship in Education Leadership. This fellowship provides developing and aspiring program directors in physical therapist education programs with the skills and resources they need to be innovative, influential and visionary leaders.

The award-winning fellowship is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education. The year-long program includes continued mentorship sessions provided by experienced physical therapy program directors and higher education leaders, implementation of a personal leadership plan and an institution-based leadership project for all participants.

Livingston joined 老澳门资料 as an assistant professor in 2008. Prior to that, she worked as a physical therapist and an athletic trainer for 12 years at the Lexington Clinic Sports Medicine Center. She also served as a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer for the United States Fed Cup team for 13 years and worked the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, providing therapy and training services for the U.S. tennis team.

She holds a doctoral degree in neuroscience from Emory University, a master’s in kinesiology and bachelor’s in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s in biology from Transylvania University.
