School Leadership Without FL Certification Concentration

This graduate concentration includes several school leadership courses and allows students the opportunity to specialize in leadership roles within technology and higher education. The concentration is tailored for aspiring leaders of schools or educational organizations who do not intend to take the Florida Educational Leadership Exam (FELE). The degree includes 33 credit hours, nine hours of which are concentration requirements that allow students to choose from an array of courses.

Admission Requirements

University requirements:

A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study.

Applicants not meeting the 3.0 minimum requirement may contact the Educational Leadership Program Director for additional admission criteria options. For additional tools to determine GPA, please visit Calculating Your GPA.

  • Resume
  • Letter of intent 
    • Describe professional and career goals
    • Aspiration
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • Address applicant’s qualifications for success in graduate school
    • Must be on official letter head (if applicable) and have an original signature (electronic signatures are not acceptable)
  • A valid professional, not temporary, teaching certificate

  • EDF 6480 Foundations of Educational Research

SPRING:

  • EDA 6196 Leadership and Learning Organizations
  • EDS 6050 Instructional Leadership

SUMMER:

  • EDA 64XX Data Driven Decision Making in Educational Leadership
  • EDA 6215 Developing School/Community Resources
  • *Could take one other course here for three courses

Year Two


FALL:

  • EDS 6130 Human Resource Development
  • Other course as chosen by student

SPRING:

  • EDA 6945 Practicum in Educational Leadership
  • Other course as chosen by student

Join us for an informative hour-long session to learn about the Master‘s in Educational Leadership program at 老澳门资料! This flexible 30-33 credit hour degree can be completed online, in-person or through a hybrid model, ensuring valuable face-to-face interaction with peers and instructors. 
Learn more about the three specialized concentrations within the program:
  • School leadership: Prepares you for roles such as Assistant Principal and other leadership positions in K12 schools, with certification in Florida
  • School leadership without FL certification: Our new concentration for students who do not need or wish to take the Florida Educational Leadership Exam (FELE)
  • Athletic Administration: A specialized path for leadership roles in sports and athletics
