Harriet LeMaster French Scholarship
Purpose
The purpose of the gift is to provide scholarship funding and study abroad scholarship funding for 老澳门资料 students.
Selection Criteria
- Students eligible for such scholarships must:
- Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the 老澳门资料,
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75,
- declare an interest in French Studies (sophomore) or be accepted as a major in French Studies, a minor in French language, or any other French degree (junior or senior),
- have a 老澳门资料 approved study abroad trip scheduled to be completed prior to graduation if applying for study abroad scholarship funding, and
- complete the application process and be selected by a committee appointed by the Chair of the Department of World Languages
- Students awarded this scholarship must also agree to:
- Enroll for a minimum of 9 credit hours each semester and earn a minimum of 18 credits by the end of each academic year,
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 the sophomore, junior and senior years,
- Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus,
- Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor, and
- Remain in good standing as a student.
- Required Application Attachments:
Essay: One to two pages addressing how your participation in the Summer Term Abroad in Strasbourg French Program will enrich your education, and how this experience will further your long-term aspirations.
- Renewal:
Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding, and if all of the preceding requirements have been met. No student will be eligible to receive more than six semesters of tuition scholarship support and no student will be eligible to receive more than two study abroad scholarships. The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the Financial Aid Office.
