Madison-Mullis Endowed Scholarship

Purpose

Established in 1990 by then municipal attorney and local executive director of the League of Cities, Claude Mullis, this fund honors lifetime Jacksonville resident and nationally known expert in municipal law, William M. Madison. The estate of local planning expert Todd Deming provided additional funds. The combined endowment provides a fellowship for full-time graduate students in the masters of public administration program, as well as lectures.

Student Criteria

  • Must be a full time graduate student, registered for 9+ hours or more per semester. Priority will be given to students who have 30 or more hours remaining in their program, 
  • undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 and must maintain 3.0 GPA at graduate level
  • Recipient chosen by the Director of the Center for Local Government and Director of MPA program;

Students awarded with this scholarship must also agree to

  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus,
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor, and Remain in good standing as a student.
  • Meet with Donor
