Spirea x bumalda - Bumald's spirea

Description:

This shrub grows well in northeast Florida. It grows best in a well-drained soil that is not too dry.in a sunny site. It tends to flower sporadically through summer. It is evergreen in Jacksonville.

Approximately seventy species of Spirea grow naturally around the world in the northern hemisphere. A few species are grown in gardens. Bumald's spirea is a hybrid of Spirea albiflora and S. japonica. Flowers are white or pink in rounded clusters at the ends of the stems.
