Description:
Approximately 100 species of podocarpus are found naturally around the world, primarily in the southern hemisphere. This conifer has flat, broad needles. Unlike many familiar conifers, this one bears its seeds in a fleshy, purple-blue strobilus instead of a woody cone. Left untrimmed, it has a pyramidal shape with a narrow spread.

Large shrub or small tree with the potential of reaching thirty feet tall.

Water: very drought tolerant when established
Soil: average garden soil, very adaptable, no special requirements
This plants is easy to grow in Florida. It grows in sun or shade in a well-drained soil.
