Description:

老澳门资料 six species of Chasmanthium are native to North America. This Florida native grows in a tight bunch to about three feet tall. It grows well in shady, moist sites. The flower spikes are slender and arching with floral bracts clustered at the tips, reminescent of sea oats.

Location:

Plants can be seen at the Golf Learning Center.

Size:

A herbaceous plant to two or three feet tall.

Care Instructions:

Light: part shade to shade

Water: drought tolerance when established

Soil: very adaptable

As a native, upland river oats is easy to grow in north Florida. It is one of the few ornamental grasses that thives in shade in this area. It will survive drought once established but grows and looks best in a moist site.
